Today, on 18 Oct 2012, Google is celebrating the 161st anniversary of a famous novel called Moby-Dick, written by Herman Melville. A simple and classy Moby-Dick Google Doodle is featured on Google’s homepage. Check out the details after the jump.
The writer Herman Melville was an American novelist, story writer, essayist, and poet. He is best known for his novel Moby-Dick. The story enlightens the adventures of traveling sailor Ishmael, and his expedition on the whaleship Pequod, commanded by Commander Ahab. The novel was first published by Richard Bentley in London on October 18, 1851, in a censored three-volume publication titled The Whale.
The Google Doodle is simple, classic and non-interactive. The doodle shows a boat in sea with the characters of novel travelling on it. On the background, there is a flag waving on which Google is written in a funky font. Do you like today’s doodle? Share it with your friends as well.
