You cannot remove or delete Facebook Timeline but you can customize it and make it a little better by setting a background of your choice. You need to use an extension to change the background image of your Facebook Timeline Profile. The extension is for Chrome so this tutorial is for Google Chrome users only.
How To Change Facebook Timeline Background Image?
Follow the tutorial and enjoy background of your choice on your Timeline Profile.
Step 1:
Open this link using Google Chrome and install the extension.
Step 2:
Click on the Facebook Background Changes Icon from your browser.
Step 3:
You have 2 options to add a background image. Select one depending upon your choice.

Picture from the URL:
Paste the image source (link) and the extension will fetch the image and make it as your FB Timeline background.

Upload Picture:
Drag the image from your computer’s folder and drop it on the specified blank space. Then click on save.
Step 4:
You can also adjust the transparency of your profile. Make the Timeline transparent or opaque according to choice from the extension’s page.
Step 5:
The image you selected is now your Facebook Profile’s Background. It will look something like the profile below.
Note:
Only you can see the FB Timeline Background as the extension is installed on your own browser. No one else can see the image as your profile’s background.
