Sony has recently announced the MDR-DS6500 digital wireless headphones along with 7.1-channel digital surround sound, in Europe. The headphones use the Virtualphones Technology [VPT] in order to replicate the soundstage of multi-channel speakers to generate an immersive acoustic gap. Read more for details.

The VPT technology know how to produce a virtual 7.1-channel soundstage that extends ‘behind and beyond’ the screen, even if you are listening to a stereo 2ch or 5.1 channel programme.

Sony MDR-DS6500 provides an interference-free CD-quality audio with extensive 100m range. It also supports Dolby Digital, Dolby Pro Logic IIx, DTS, DTS ES audio codec and comes with CINEMA, GAME, VOICE virtual surround modes.
